Coos Bay/North Bend ~

Coos Bay is a small coastal town (approx. 16,500 population) on the southern Oregon coast between Florence and Brookings. It is approximately 75 miles west of Roseburg and 60 miles south of Florence, and can boast of being the largest natural harbor between Seattle and San Francisco.

North Bend (approx 10,000 population) is adjacent to Coos Bay, contributing towards the bay area's overall size, tourism, & economic growth.

Charleston (approx population) is a small fishing village that sits at the mouth of Coos River and the South Slough National Estuarine Reserve. It's home to the U.S. Coast Guard & abundant forms of marine life including seals, sea lions, and migrating whales.

Combined, the area sports a small municipal airport, casino, community college, many museums & galleries, several state parks & dune recreation areas, a sport & deep sea fishing industry, and until recent lumber shortages, the largest timber shipping port in the world.
