Seeking Angels Thanks to a generous grant awhile back from the Oregon Community Foundation, the On Broadway Thespians were able to purchase a new lighting control system to upgrade our stage lighting. The existing lighting control board was acquired second-hand when the On Broadway Theater first opened nearly 30 years ago!
Despite the new move across the street to the Egyptian Theatre, we find we desperately need to continue upgrading our technical equipment since our new space has quadrupled in size! Additionally, we'd like to eventually acquire a new sound & intercom system. Although we will surely be applying for more grants in the future, most granting agencies like to see local support in the form of matching funds. Consequently with hat in hand, we come seeking Angels. Donations of all sizes are welcome and are tax deductible. All donations are placed in a capital account and dedicated to acquiring the new desperately needed upgrades.
It takes a great deal to keep our theater going. Even though folks generously donate their time as volunteers, there are still a multitude of expenses involved in putting on plays; things like costume rental, building sets, purchasing scripts, paying royalties, paying musicians, printing programs & posters, buying television airtime, equipment maintenance & repairs, and so forth.
So you see, we are forever in need of generous OBT Angels! Won't you consider becoming an OBT Supporter or a Corporate Sponsor of one of our plays? Or you could also help offset our production costs by purchasing Ad space in our OBT newsletter, show programs, and/or posters. (See table chart below).

In addition to the contributions from our supporters, attendance at our performances is vital to carry on the tradition of the theater. Even though you think you may be familiar with a story, through film, print or a different stage rendition, each production really takes on its own personality. Each director has a different vision of the play and every actor brings a fresh interpretation to each role.
Don't forget that OBT is in constant need of volunteers for all functions required to give our community "quality" presentations. A play may consist of only six thespians but it also requires dozens of supporting personnel to produce. Get involved on stage or behind the scenes in the light booth, backstage, ushering, building & painting sets, and so forth. We'd LOVE to have ya!
2007 marked the beginning of a new era for the On Broadway Thespians, Inc. While it was sad to say goodbye to the facility that was our home for over 25 years, we look forward to our co-operative efforts with both the Egyptian Theater Preservation Association, and Gussies Dinner Theatre.
