Mission Statement:

"Enriching the lives of patrons and players of all ages, through the magic of live theatre."

The On Broadway Thespians, Inc. is a non-profit cultural organization incorporated in the State of Oregon on October 3, 1994. The mission of the On Broadway Thespians (OBT) is to produce quality theater for the community in an intimate playhouse setting, unique to this region. In its short life, OBT has staged a staggering number of diverse productions, from current Broadway hits to relatively unknown scripts, from new plays by local authors to adaptations developed specifically for the OBT stage.

OBT has been able to accomplish this feat by the continued labor and support of hundreds of community volunteers who have donated countless hours of work because like you, they believe that live, intimate theater is of value in our culture.

The Board of Directors of the On Broadway Thespians cordially invites you to join in our efforts to continue to stage relevant, entertaining, informative, and challenging productions for our community. Consider advertising in our show programs, loan periodic clothing, furniture, or other items as props for upcoming plays, or simply come share your talents and audition for a play. Your involvement & support is both appreciated and humbly needed.

Hiatus/Epilogue:

In 2007, OBT lost it's lease on the building they had called home for 14 years. The move forced the group to seek out other temporary stage venues such as, the Egyptian Theater, the Pony Village Mall, and the Stray Katz/Genevieve's restaurant (formerly Gussies) in which to stage productions.

However, the change proved quite cumbersome and OBT struggled. Props, costumes, lights, etc. had to be put into storage or get loaned out to other local theater companies. Without a permanent stage, OBT had no choice but to cut the number of plays being produced each year to the point of eventually going dark. That hiatus would last nearly two years until 2011, with the promise of a new production to be staged at LTOB (Little Theater On the Bay) in neighboring North Bend, Oregon.
